Suede foi uma das mais populares e importantes bandas do Reino Unido nos anos 90, tendo contribuído para iniciar o movimento Britpop e revigorando o Rock Inglês.
Sua ultima formação era constituida por
Brett Anderson (Voz, de 1989 à 2003 e 2010),
Mat Osman (Baixo, de 1989 à 2003 e 2010),
Simon Gilbert (Bateria, de 1991 à 2003 e 2010),
Richard Oakes (Guitarra Solo, de 1994 à 2003 e 2010) e
Neil Codling (Teclado, Sintetizador e Guitarra Ritímica, de 1996 à 2001 e 2010). Já passaram pelo Suede também outros músicos como
Bernard Butler (Guitarra Solo e Piano, de 1989 à 1994),
Justine Frischmann (Guitarra Ritímica, de 1989 à 1991) e
Alex Lee (Guitarra Ritímica e Teclado, de 2001 à 2003).
Após anos de mudanças na formação da banda, ainda colocavam seus álbuns nos topos das paradas Britânica, enquanto recebiam críticas respeitosas. São até hoje considerados uma das bandas mais importantes e influêntes no Rock Inglês dos anos 90.
No início de 2010, são confirmados os rumores de que a banda se iria reunir passados sete anos, para uma série de concertos.
